Learn about geology, earthquakes, and the desert's history, plants, and animals as your jeep winds its way through the amazing labyrinth of geological cuts and canyons of the San Andreas Fault Zone.

This tour includes numerous opportunities to get out of the jeep and explore the desert "up-close-and-personal".

Options include taking a nature walk or short hike, panning for gold at the Old Mining Camp, or exploring our Cahuilla Indian Village, EpiCenter Earthquake Education Center, or Pioneer Homestead.

Summary: This tour does NOT include hotel pick-up. Prices are per person and include all taxes and fees. Child rates apply to children ages 4 to 12. Minimum age is 4. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-409-3174. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Notes

-Where does the tour depart?
This tour departs from a central location in Palm Desert. The address will be provided on your E-Ticket when your tour is confirmed.

-Can children go?
Of course! We take children 4 years old and over on this tour. California Law requires that children under 6 years of age or 60 pounds must ride in an approved child safety seat. To ensure the safety of your child, you must provide your own car seat and you must assume responsibility for buckling your child into the seat to make sure the child is properly secured.

-How rough is the ride?
This tour can be bumpy at times and is not recommended for young children (under age 4) or guests with neck or back injuries. Women who are pregnant are advised to consult with their doctor before taking a Jeep tour.

-How many guests fit in one jeep?
Each jeep carries 7 passengers plus your Naturalist Guide/Driver.

-Do we need to bring water?
Our jeeps are stocked with plenty of cool bottled water and granola bars.

-Are there restrooms?
Clean restrooms are available on our tour.

-What kind of shoes and clothes shouls I wear?
You should wear closed toe shoes with rubber soles (no open toes). Desert temperatures change quickly, so dress in layers and bring sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen.

-Can I bring a video or other camera?
Absolutely, the photo opportunities are wonderful.

-Do you get out of the jeep? is there hiking involved? How difficult?
Yes, on most of our tours, you get out of your jeep several times to see the desert up close and personal.

-What kind of wildlife will we see?
Desert wildlife includes coyotes, kit fox, tarantulas, scorpions, an occasional mountain lion, rattle snakes and other cool snakes (don't be scared...they are more scared of you and will hide in most instances: unless you are lucky!) Most desert wildlife is seen early morning or late in the afternoon just before sunset.

Equipment
Today, we have the largest fleet of Jeep Scramblers (CJ-8) in the country. From an initial fleet consisting of three used vehicles with a capacity of nine passengers, we have grown to operate 16 custom-built Jeep Scramblers with a seating capacity of 112.

All vehicles are equipped with radios and First Aid gear, approved safety features such as roll bars and seat belts for each occupant, and can be operated as open-air vehicles or with the canvas top unfurled. Our full-time Jeep Operations Manager checks each vehicle daily.
