Summary:

Tour includes hotel pickup from the Palm Desert area. 48 hours minimum advance notice required. This tour requires 2 persons to operate. Minimum age for this tour is 3. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-409-3174. There is a $5.95 USD processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation Policy:

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

While on this tour, explore a lush natural palm oasis where you will see water seeping up through the underground aquifer as your expert naturalist guide describes how the Cahuilla Indians used the desert's plants for food, medicine, and shelter and how the abundant underground water made the desert hospitable for early settlers.

Also learn about the life and culture of how the Cahuilla Indians lived, as you explore a replica Cahuilla Village situated on a historic Indian site, filled with Indian artifacts and interpretive displays.

You will experience the awesome power of nature as you explore narrow slot canyons created by the collision of the Pacific and North American plates as your Naturalist Guide describes the geology of the San Andreas Fault and tells you everything you want to know about earthquakes.

You will have the opportunity to explore an Old Mining Camp, which is filled with antique mining equipment and displays. You will also tour a gold mine exhibit and have the opportunity to pan for gold.

THINGS TO BRING

Wear closed-toe shoes with rubber soles, such as tennis shoes or hiking boots. Sandals and shoes with high heels are not recommended.
Wear comfortable clothing; it is recommended that you dress in layers, as desert temperatures can change quickly.
Bring a light sweater or jacket in the cooler months (November through March).
Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are highly recommended.
Don't forget your camera, the photo opportunities are amazing!
